National Australia Bank is one of the many sponsors of the Australian Football League. But they wanted to take a bigger share of the sponsorship voice and demonstrate that they were a sponsor worthy of fans’ admiration. Introducing NAB's ‘Footify Fansplant', where we plucked sports fans from around the globe and gave AFL fans the opportunity to use their passion to convert them into footy fanatics.

Meet Andrea, Jimmy, Mai, Kumar and Phil - five of the world’s most passionate international sports fans. They couldn’t pick their ruckmen from their rovers, but with the help of some footy-mad Aussie households, we wanted to well and truly Footify them. After introducing them to the nation, fans, families and fanatics who thought they had what it takes to ‘adopt’ a Fansplantee applied online.

First up they met their new host families and it didn’t take long to get down to business and learn the basics of Aussie Rules. The nation watched as they these international fans learnt how to play, train, umpire, and coach. Each webisode became a memorable journey as our Fansplantees embraced our great game and the game embraced them.
